The Ethereum foundation team has gathered enormous responses where participants have requested for the Grants program to have increased transparency in its processes. The feedback also includes requesting the team in considering in detail the several kinds of projects that could be taken up.
In the current wave 3 round of the EF program, the team has attempted to perfect their internal processes to guarantee that the funds are disbursed in a timely manner. The team also hopes to award grants to applicants on a rolling basis thereby bringing about prompt backing to teams and projects spearheading the cause of transparency and decentralization.
The EF program is hopeful of receiving applicants who possess the well-formed technical knowledge, a good understanding of the project roadmap as well as a leaning towards advancing collaboration within the Ethereum ecosystem.
In the wave 3 rollout of the program, the EF team has stated that their aim is to productively kick-off projects that would further the critical infrastructure of the budding Ethereum community. The team further said that the Wave 3 rollout had a pool of applicants who possessed strong teams with a string of ingenious ideas. The sheer variety in the projects that were submitted from applicants across the world who had the common passion of fostering the advancement of Ethereum came as a surprise, says the EF team.
The Wave 3 finalists were announced on the Ethereum Foundation’s official blog. Three winners were chosen for each category namely, Scalability, Security, Usability, Education, and Hackternips.
The EF team has affirmed that although the focus of the EF grants is on Scalability, the team would wish to fund other critical work in the future. This would consist of bettering the UX, funding for new clients and high-level languages, improved developer tools and attempts at bettering Ethereum based applications.
Through Wave 3, the Ethereum Foundation has broadened their sphere in the field of education and has involved themselves in community efforts effectively bringing fresh talent into the network.
