Conflux (CFX)Portal wallet will be removed from the Chrome plugin market due to security risks. Users are advised to switch to the Fluent wallet for enhanced safety and support.
In a recent announcement from the Conflux (CFX) Forum, the ConfluxPortal wallet is set to be removed from the Chrome plugin market in the near future. The decision comes as the wallet has not received updates since 2022, posing potential security risks to its users. Conflux has recommended that users transition to the Fluent wallet, which is officially maintained by Conflux and offers a more stable and secure experience.
Security Risks Highlighted
The ConfluxPortal wallet has been flagged for security vulnerabilities due to its outdated status. Users continuing to utilize the wallet are warned of possible risks, with the Conflux team advising a swift migration to the Fluent wallet to ensure asset safety. The Fluent wallet is actively maintained and provides users with ongoing feature support and improved stability.
Microsoft’s Recent Findings
Adding to the urgency, Microsoft recently identified a new cybersecurity threat named StilachiRAT, which targets cryptocurrency wallets, including ConfluxPortal. Although the malware has not spread extensively, Microsoft has taken measures to mitigate the risk. This development has further influenced Conflux’s decision to delist ConfluxPortal to protect user assets.
Official Recommendations
Conflux has emphasized the importance of migrating to the Fluent wallet as soon as possible. Users are advised that any issues arising from the continued use of ConfluxPortal will be at their own risk. The Conflux team has expressed their apologies for any inconvenience this transition may cause and appreciates the understanding and support of their user base.
