Coinbase Names Jeff Horowitz As First Chief Compliance Officer
Coinbase, the largest US cryptocurrency exchange, has named Jeff Horowitz as its first chief compliance officer.
The company announced the move in a blog post. Coinbase is seeking to be approved as a broker-dealer, and Horowitz joins following decades working for both banks and regulatory bodies.
Horowitz has spent the last 12 years leading the compliance team at Pershing, a BNY Mellon company. Before that, he worked at Citigroup, Goldman Sachs, and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, all roles involving compliance.
Horowitz has been a member of the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).
